The Alcazar: a symbol of the Sevillana history and beautiful gardens
The Alcazar is one of the most visited monuments in Spain, and probably the most emblematic of the city.
It is a royal palace dating from the 8th century. Built by the Moorish, it has been later renovated and extended by the Christians and the different kings of Spain.By consistently being renovated among the years, the Alcazar has become a unique place. Its style, a mixt of Mudejar (name given to the muslims that lived in Spain), Renaissance, Gothique and others, reflects the history of Sevilla.
Beyond its architecture, the Alcazar is also well-known for its big gardens.Essentially made up of Hundred-year-old trees, orange trees, flowers, fountains, beaten track surrounded by perfectly well-kept box trees… there are one of the scenes of the famous TV-show “Game of Thrones”.
